Madhav attempts to cut off Lokenath’s tresses, but is stopped by a snake. However, when Gouri arrives, he sees a crown flower garland in place of the snake. Following this, Ramnarayan arranges for Lokenath’s 'choysasthi' but meagre arrangements concern him. When Madhav brings several Brahmans without notice, he worries what to feed them. Thereafter, he is shocked to see a huge platter in the kitchen and marvels at the magic. He also spots bael leaves atop each pot.
